We are a Certified B-Corporation
“Getting our B Corp certification is an enormous accomplishment for our small and mighty team at Trois Noix. We are excited to move forward and continue to be a force for change and for good in our communities, both locally and further afield.”- Jaime Araujo
Inspired by the B Lab manifesto to use business as a force for good, Trois Noix Wines announced their official status as a B Corporation in February 2022. Trois Noix is only the second winery in Napa Valley to achieve this challenging environmental & social equity certification from B Labs. The team places key importance on core values of Opportunity, Possibility, and Community by embracing the rigor and accountability the B Corp Certification provides. Additionally, the values of Trois Noix’s operational structure align closely to those set forth by B Lab and the team is wholly committed to integrating what they learn as part of the B Corp family.
About B Corp and B Lab: B Lab is the nonprofit network transforming the global economy to benefit all people, communities, and the planet. Their international network of organizations leads economic systems change to support a collective vision of an inclusive, equitable, and regenerative economy. B Lab began in 2006 with the idea that a different kind of economy was not only possible, it was necessary – and that business could lead the way towards a new, stakeholder-driven model. They became known for certifying B Corporations, which are companies that meet the highest standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency. B Lab creates standards, policies, tools, and programs that shift the behavior, culture, and structure of capitalism. By harnessing the power of business, B Lab positively impacts 150 industries in 74 countries, helping them balance profit with purpose.
We are a Napa Green Certified Winery
In May 2022, Trois Noix became a Napa Green Certified Winery committed to environmental stewardship and climate action in Napa County. We are dedicated to sustainability and caring for nature and we recognize how this can elevate quality and experience for employees, customers and community, now and in the future. We take pride in being leaders proving sustainability is synonymous with business success.
These are some of our sustainability initiatives:
- We work with our grapegrowers and vineyard partners to implement biodynamic, organic, and sustainable methods.
- We off-set our carbon usage.
- We use natural cork.
- We do not use foil capsules.
- The winery facilities we work with have implemented energy-efficient systems and water reclamation processes.
- Our packaging and shipping materials are recyclable and/or compostable.
- We source from local suppliers whenever possible to reduce emissions.
- We recycle and compost in our offices.
- We work with distributor partners, vendors, organizations and suppliers who hold similar values (see a list of companies and orgs we work with, learn from, and think the world of here).
2024 Possibility Partner
Each year, our team identifies a non-profit partner to which we provide a wine donation-in-kind and also at least a day of each team member’s time. This commitment to our “Possibility Partners” is a tangible way our core values are applied to direct action. In addition to this level of support, the team’s engagement with partners via volunteer and event opportunities helps cement our commitment and expand our knowledge of the important work being done by our partners.
Our 2023-2024 partner is Co-Fermented. This organization is dedicated to creating awareness and facilitating representation for the LGBTQIA+ community within the wine industry. As this community has experienced historical barriers of acceptance, identity, and representation, Co-Fermented seeks to create inclusive and safe spaces, as well as challenge the status quo that limits self-being and expression through the use of educational tools, representation, and community building. Co-Fermented is committed to using wine as a conduit for narratives within gender and sexual diversity while elevating LGBTQIA+ identifying individuals and embracing the queer experience.
