Spring 2025

Jaime here with our latest newsletter update!

Anyone who has spent five minutes with me will know that I am obsessed with BCorp and love to talk about it, always! While March was officially “B-Corp month” globally, at Trois Noix, we have ongoing activities and actions that support maintaining our status.

We have a B* (Corp) in our Bonnet
Receiving our certification in 2021 and getting recertified in 2024, we are one of only three Napa Valley wineries that are B Corp certified – the others being Spottswoode and Clif Family Wines. Until now! We are happy to see another winery join the B*Corp fold – Artesa winery, and look forward to collaborating on future projects together.

Living the B Corp Values
For anyone familiar with BCorp certification needs, they are RIGOROUS. But more than securing the certification, the charter also requires that we maintain our commitment to the certification and try to improve it as well. I thought I’d give you a couple of ways in which we are walking our walk and living our BCorp values this year.

Employee Benefits
Trois Noix is a tiny company, and of course, margins are always slim in the wine world. That being said, we provide all full time employees with 100% medical and dental coverage, and we have a great Roth/401k program through Green Retirement (shout out to our friend Timothy Yee) that also offers company matching funds for anyone participating. All employees and consultants also receive six bottles of every wine we make, so they can enjoy them with friends and family.

Employee Development
We try to find ways to help push our employees out of their normal zones and work to provide opportunities for conferences, training or other vectors for professional and personal development. This can include opportunities for our winemaking team to hone their presentation skills at events and tastings, or for any of our employees to participate in educational seminars and symposia. Finally, we try to live our values of “progress, not perfection”, whether that’s through our regenerative farming trial that we created with our vineyard partners, our “pay it forward” tasting promotions, or our support of various non-profits in our industry and further afield. We want to make sure that we are always looking for ways to make our community, and the world, a better place. This year, we are sponsoring the “We the Change” women’s retreat in Denver, featuring many B*corp businesses.

We do all this with the aim to help develop and maintain a stronger and more abundant wine community. And know that as you are part of the Trois Noix family, if you have any suggestions about how we can do more, or better, please reach out.

Best,
Jaime

In The Vineyard

We have budbreak in our Chardonnay at the Muir-Hanna Vineyard, marking the official start of the 2025 growing season! This exciting stage of growth is when the grapevine emerges from winter dormancy, and green tissue flourishes into a canopy that will eventually bear grape clusters.

Our Chardonnay is the first varietal to go through budbreak each year, while Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon may typically kick off about one month later. This budbreak cadence loosely mirrors the order in which we pick the fruit at harvest.

Cheers!
Mike

Coming soon…

As you know, we have moved our tastings to Grove45 in Calistoga. But coming in May, we will have our own dedicated tasting space right next door at Museion Napa – a collaborative custom-crush facility where we are able to join other likeminded small producers to make our wines. This tasting space is beautiful and we can’t wait to share it with you once the renovation is completed! Stay tuned for more info.

This location is an easy drive up the Silverado Trail, or if you are feeling ambitious, you can reach it via the Napa Valley Vine Trail cycling trail. We are offering tastings by appointment every day so please come visit!

Trois Noix Out & About

April 8-9 – Trois Noix Takes on DC!
Another successful Napa Valley Vintners DC Mission in the books! For the third year running, I was honored to be part of the vintner team leading the charge across Capitol Hill to share our struggles and issues in the wine world with the people who can (hopefully) make a difference. It was certainly a wild time to be in DC, and we have plenty of stories to share over a glass or two of wine 😏.

I also had a blast at Bourbon Steak’s Napa Vintners’ dinner which raised money for Food & Friends, the only community-based organization in the DC region providing home-delivered medically tailored meals and nutrition therapy to our neighbors living with cancer, HIV/AIDS, and other serious illnesses.

My last stop was to join the lovely hosts of the TV program Living Local DMV to discuss wines for spring & summer weddings (see photo above). Check out my spot here!
