Summer 2025

Director of Winemaking Mike Tracy with the new Chenin Blanc!

Hi friends!

I’m checking in to say “happy summer”, let you know about an exciting upcoming new release, and share some good vibes because we all need them right now 🙂.

Our Very First Chenin Blanc is Bottled

As some of you may know, a couple of years ago we were lucky enough to secure four rows of Chenin Blanc grapes from Jim and Ann Verhey at our beloved Ryan’s Vineyard in Oak Knoll.  Fast forward and we are super excited to unveil our first-ever Trois Noix Chenin Blanc, slated for release on August 1st. PRE-ORDER this special wine now! Shipping will begin 8/1 or when weather permits.

Why We Love Chenin in Napa Valley

We previewed our first release back in April, when we were invited by Ballentine Vineyards to participate in their very first Napa-wide Chenin tasting and discussion panel.

After some wild and wooly winter weather, we were graced by a stunning spring day – Napa really outdid itself for us (which was great, because we were meeting outside on the patio).

Together with winemakers and principals from Aloft, Chappellet, Larkmead, Stereograph and Gaderian Wines, Zeitgeist, Lola Wines, and of course, our host Ballentine, we skipped our way through a Napa Valley exploration of this great white variety.

The wines were all very different in style to each other, but all clearly show the spectacular quality that Napa Valley Chenin Blanc can attain.

What really struck me, though, was the amount of history – both personal and community – that these wines brought out of each one of us. From my own story (the Eisele Vineyard, my family’s first home in Napa, was originally planted to Riesling and Zinfandel, with a bit of Chenin mixed in), to the stories of the Mondavi family’s first plantings, and other people’s “AHA” wines in the Loire Valley.

Something about this grape and these wines felt deeply personal and created bonds within this group over the course of a tasting and lunch. We shared best practices, our experiences with different aging regimes, clones, and harvest dates, and it truly felt like the best of the old-school Napa community there on the patio, in the sunshine.

Our Debut White Shines Bright at Auction Napa Valley
Now that we are nearing our release date, we were thrilled to see that the very first “avant-premiere” lot of Chenin that we shared at Auction Napa Valley ended up selling for more than $100 a bottle on average! What a great way to kickoff our Chenin story – with the added benefit of supporting the Napa Valley Vintners, and key non-profits supporting youth health and wellness in our community.

You can be the judge when our first Trois Noix Chenin Blanc is released on August 1st, but we are pretty sure you’ll love it as much as we do!

Trois Noix Out & About

June’s Queer Wine Fest was absolute magic! We joined an incredible crew of winemakers up in Oregon at Remy Wines for a sunshine-filled day of wine, tunes, tasty bites, and all-around good vibes.

The energy was electric, the community was joyful, and it felt like the perfect exclamation point to wrap up Pride month ❤️🏳️‍🌈!
